Mama Style - Guest Blogger SueAnn

When I started thinking about this series, I thought about other women I know and how they, too, can inspire. I certainly can't give advice that will work for everyone, so I asked different mamas to contribute. Some are working mothers, some mostly stay home. Some have a newborn for the first time, others are doing it a third. Today's guest blogger is SueAnn, who I met in real life at her brother's wedding, then I blog-stalked her (I'm good at that, apparently) and then we started getting together on a regular basis. If you read this blog, you obviously know SueAnn and Milo helped me and Aspen transition to living in Salt Lake County this summer. I don't know what I'd do without them!

Hi, I'm SueAnn, nice to meet you!  I am a wife and mama to 2 of the cutest kids around, and once upon a time my sisters in law and I used to post on our blog A lil bird told me...  With moving twice in a year and adding a second child to the mix, I have been quite the neglectful blogger.

This year has been crazy, and between welcoming my sweet little girl into our family and turning THIRTY, I have definitely been feeling the frump instead of the fab.  On that big birthday instead of feeling "thirty, flirty, and thriving" I was just "thirty, tired, and SUPER pregnant."

I have a couple small things that I do to help me feel fabulous.  The first is hair.  I have long hair, which I used to color on a regular basis.  I hated the roots though, and it just wasn't in the budget to keep it up, so I went back to my natural color.  Since doing so, I have found other ways to keep my hair fun and fresh without coloring it.  Thanks to Pinterest and all of its wonderful tutorials I have found some fun hairstyles that are quick (I don't have too much time with 2 kiddos now!), easy, and fun!

Another thing that helps me get rid of that frumpy feeling is my monthly Birchbox.  My brother and his wife are THE BEST gifters, and always give me amazing gifts.  They gave me a 6 month subscription to Birchbox.

"Birchbox delivers the best products and the best insider secrets, without any fuss. Every month Birchbox members will receive a curated box of luxe beauty samples. Each box will span beauty categories and deliver exciting products that fit into both your day-to-day routine, and into those days when you want to turn up the drama a notch."

I love getting my boxes in the mail, it is so exciting and fun!  The samples are great, they are a good size, not rinky dink small samples.  I am not one to buy perfume because my taste changes too often, so the perfume samples are my favorite.  This was one of my favorite boxes I received back in July, when Birchbox teamed up with Glamour, and sent out a super fun box.

Earbuds, mints, eyeliner, perfume, facial moisturizer, and hair serum.

I absolutely LOVE the liquid eyeliner from this box, it is easy to put on and smudge proof!  Birchbox is only $10/month, which I feel is totally worth it, the full size eyeliner that you get in the box costs more than that!  So, take one less trip through the drive through each month and use the money to get yourself a Birchbox subscription!

I am having major body image issues right now trying to get rid of the last of the baby weight, and since I can't fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes yet, doing something fun with my hair, or spraying on a fresh flirty scent definitely helps me feel fabulous!

Thank you SueAnn! I always love seeing what you do with your hair and I hope I can continue to be patient and grow mine out like yours. And you know how I feel about Birchbox! That's on my wishlist for my next birthday. Who doesn't want to get a package full of amazing samples every month?
