A Pink House has existed for many years, enduring heat and cold alike with no relief. Before the arrival of the tiny pink baby in the Pink House, winters were insufferably freezing, forcing the Lord and Lady of the manor to wrap themselves in many layers and huddle together for warmth.
Summers were equally as distressing, what with temperatures rising to nearly 90 degrees inside the manor. The Pink House simply didn't stand a chance against the elements with its inadequate insulation and non-existent central cooling system.
One day, the Lord of the Pink House was bequeathed a behemoth swamp cooler which survived a precarious fall off a deck. With much effort, the the swamp cooler was coaxed and prodded into a functioning shape in preparation for its new life at the Pink House.
The Lord of the Pink House was assisted dutifully by a friend with great patience, and together they toiled long into the night to make a new home for the swamp cooler, allowing it to fulfill its calling as a bringing of sweet relief to those who need it most.
The Lady of the manor also contributed to the installation, staying awake until the wee small hours of the night to help make the Pink House a more enjoyable dwelling throughout the remainder of the summer.
The fruits of their labors were not reaped until the following day, when the swamp cooler was fully-installed and turned on following a morning at church. It was only then that the realization of how bad it had been really dawned on the Lord and Lady.
WHY DID THEY LIVE FOR SO LONG WITHOUT ANY RELIEF?!
With the aid of the swamp cooler, the Pink House is now an inviting dwelling for all who seek shelter from the sun. The gentle hum of the swamp cooler will remind one and all of the modern conveniences to which we are all entitled. No longer will the Lord and Lady of the Pink House hide in the cellar to find cooler temperatures. No longer will the candles melt themselves. No longer will the wee babe play in just a diaper when she could be wearing actual clothes.
A new day has dawned, and it will maintain a comfortable temperature forever more.
